A lot of people feel my T20 cricket is declining, but I don’t feel like that at all: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli showcased his exceptional form in T20 cricket by delivering back-to-back centuries during the league stage of IPL 2023. His remarkable performance helped his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, post an impressive total of 197 runs against the Gujrat Titans in their crucial encounter.

Kohli remained unbeaten as he hammered 101 runs off just 61 balls, rescuing RCB from a precarious position of 133 for 5. His exceptional batting display in the final six overs propelled his team to a formidable total. Follow your favourite IPL team with attractive cricket betting odds from Fun88.

Responding to critics who questioned his T20 form and approach, Kohli took a dig at them after achieving his seventh century in the IPL. During a mid-match interview with Ravi Shastri, Kohli addressed the issue, stating, “A lot of people feel my T20 cricket is declining, but I don’t feel like that at all. I feel like I am playing my best T20 cricket again. I’m just enjoying myself; this is how I play T20 cricket. I look to hit gaps, a lot of boundaries, and the big ones in the end if the situation allows me to.”

Emphasizing the importance of reading the situation and adapting to it, Kohli stated, “Strike rates, all those kinds of things, like I said in the past as well… You have to read the situation and rise to the occasion when the situation demands it, and that’s something I take a lot of pride in doing, and I’ve been doing it for a while now. I feel really good with my game at the moment and how I’m batting out there in the middle.”

Despite Kohli’s exceptional performance, RCB’s hopes were shattered in their clash against the Gujrat Titans. Shubman Gill’s unbeaten knock of 104 runs off 52 balls crushed the host side’s aspirations, leading to RCB’s elimination from the tournament. The Gujrat Titans successfully chased down the target of 198 runs with five balls to spare, securing their position at the top of the table with 20 points.

The IPL journey may have come to an end for Royal Challengers Bangalore, but Virat Kohli’s impressive return to form and his back-to-back centuries have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the tournament and silenced his critics. Follow Fun88 Sports to get the latest updates from IPL 2023.
