“Amir Hails Virat Kohli as the ‘Only Real King’ in Cricket After Spectacular Century”

Former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir has bestowed the title of the “Only Real King” in cricket upon Indian superstar Virat Kohli following his outstanding century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 18. Kohli’s magnificent innings propelled the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to an emphatic eight-wicket victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad, keeping RCB’s playoff hopes alive.

With this century, Kohli equaled the record set by his former RCB teammate Chris Gayle, scoring his sixth century for the team and in the history of the tournament. Notably, this match marked the first time in IPL history that both teams witnessed a player scoring a century, with Kohli’s incredible knock of 100 runs off 63 balls overshadowing Heinrich Klaasen’s impressive 104 off 51 deliveries. Expressing his admiration for Kohli, Mohammad Amir took to Twitter to acclaim the Indian batting maestro, stating, “What an innings by one and only the real king @imVkohli take a bow.”

During an episode of his YouTube channel “Inswing with Amir,” the former Pakistani cricketer further praised Kohli, declaring him his favorite batsman in the current era of international cricket and stating that there is no comparison between Kohli and any other player.

“There is no comparison between Virat with any other player of this generation. Virat’s achievements are unbelievable. Today he achieved another feat. This hundred was so special because it was a must-win game for RCB, and he stepped up. The kind of shots he has played is unbelievable. We know about his class, and a big player will always come good when the going gets tough,” expressed Amir.

Amir went on to emphasize that Kohli’s century was crucial in securing RCB’s victory, propelling them to the fourth spot in the IPL 2023 points table. With only one more game left against the defending champions Gujarat Titans, both RCB and Amir hope for another resounding victory that would secure a spot for RCB in the knockout stages.

“He has scored his first hundred in four years, his sixth in the tournament’s history. He is the real king of cricket. If he will play for five more years, I don’t know how many records he is going to set, you never know. RCB’s hope for the semifinals is alive now. I hope they play in the semis and final and also win the title,” added Amir, displaying his unwavering support for RCB and Kohli’s exceptional skills.
