Chelsea plan Brahim Diaz heist as Milan and Madrid come to impasse on transfer fee

The Rossoneri are willing to pay £21 million to sign the Spaniard on a permanent deal

Premier League side Chelsea are believed to planning what is being called another “Daniel Sturridge” deal, as they are on the lookout for the possibility of bringing talented playmaker Brahim Diaz to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea, who have already had a number of new arrivals over the last year, are reportedly very interested in Brahim Diaz, whose loan tenure at AC Milan expires this summer, and is set to return to Real Madrid.

Diaz will head back to the Bernabeu only in the event that Milan refuse to pay the agreed upon amount to make the deal permanent, which is believed to be in the neighbourhood of £19 million.

The seven-time Champions League winners are more than willing to activate the buy option clause to make the transfer go through, as they are extremely happy with the player’s progress. Diaz has cemented his place in the starting lineup for Milan and it does not appear as if he would like to go back to Madrid either. Get the best football betting odds only on Gclub.

The Spaniard joined Real Madrid from defending Premier League champions Manchester City’s academy, before arriving at the San Siro on loan. Now having established himself as a top-quality player, the attacker is attracting a lot of interest, with Chelsea being one of the parties interested in his signature.

The stumbling block for Milan is reported to be Madrid’s demands, with the Los Blancos desiring a £23.5 million fee, while the Rossoneri are in agreement to pay £21 million, which is still more than the supposed clause. Chelsea have stepped in at this stage, and have also offered to meet Madrid’s demands, if reports are to be believed.

However, where Diaz would fit into the squad at Chelsea is not readily apparent, as the Blues have already made a number of signings. Playing time would be a major concern for Diaz at Chelsea, with a number of players vying for the same spots. With that in mind, Diaz would probably prefer staying at the iconic San Siro, where playing time is virtually guaranteed under manager Stefano Pioli. Follow more updates on this story on Gclub Sports.
