IPL 2023: Sai Sudharsan shines as Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets

Gujarat Titans continued their winning run in IPL 2023 by defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in Match 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans opted to bowl first and their bowlers restricted Delhi Capitals to 162/8. Rashid Khan and Alzarri Joseph’s collective effort with the ball helped in limiting DC’s scoring. In reply, B Sai Sudharsan played a composed innings of 62 runs off 48 balls, which included crucial partnerships with Vijay Shankar and David Miller, to take the Titans past the target with 11 balls to spare.

Chasing a target of 163 runs, Gujarat Titans got off to a good start as opener Wriddhiman Saha hit a couple of boundaries and a six off the first over from Khaleel Ahmed. However, Anrich Nortje removed both Saha and Shubman Gill in quick succession. The Titans then brought in Vijay Shankar, who steadied the innings with Sudharsan and added 53 runs for the fourth wicket. The partnership was broken by Mitchell Marsh when he trapped Shankar LBW via a successful review. David Miller then came in and played a crucial knock of 31 runs off 16 balls, which included three sixes, to take Gujarat Titans to a comfortable victory. Alzarri Joseph and Rashid Khan picked up five wickets between them to keep the Delhi Capitals’ total under check.
