Atletico Madrid rumoured to sign Adama Traore in summer for free

There is plenty of chaos surrounding Atletico Madrid as it sounds. With Diego Simeone’s future uncertain at the club and the club already looking at multiple managerial options in the market to replace their long-serving Argentine manager, it seems like his time at the club is definitely coming to an end at the end of this season.

However, that doesn’t stop Atletico from making their future plannings and have already secured a long term deal with Portuguese forward Joao Felix before he made a loan move to Chelsea. They’re also in contention to sign Luis Enrique as a replacement for Diego Simeone at the helm of the club and looking at Enrique’s track record, it could be an exciting prospect for the club. In addition, Atletico Madrid are also looking for some wide players in the market who might not cost them aplenty. Among those options, topping the list is Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore, who is currently serving out the final few months of his contract at the Molineux. Despite the emergence of Spanish manager Julien Lopetegui, Traore is likely to part ways with the club, as per many rumours.

Atletico Madrid want to cash in on this situation and want to get the signature of the player before anybody else could. British publication 90min reported on Tuesday that Atletico are also stepping up their efforts to sign Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester on a Bosman deal, and they are now also exploring a free transfer for Traore. Traore had a loan spell at Barcelona towards the end of last season. The Catalan giants took him over at Camp Nou in January 2022 until the end of the season but it did not prove to be fruitful for both parties, which saw the Spanish player return to England. However, Traore also seems more interested in settling in Spain and is likely to find a future there.

While Barcelona declined to sign Traore at the end of that loan deal, it might not matter much for the deal that Atletico Madrid want to do. Since returning to Wolves from the loan deal, he has made 27 appearances so far this season, though most of these have come from the bench. Follow Fun88 Sports for more updates from the La Liga.
