Foxes chase Graham Potter while Chelsea make contact with Nagelsmann

Sacked Chelsea manager Graham Potter has reportedly received another offer from a Premier League side barely hours after being terminated at Stamford Bridge. The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager has emerged as the frontrunner to take over the vacant managerial position at Leicester City, according to multiple reports.

It is believed that the Englishman’s coaching philosophy, and the style of play of his teams are widely appreciated at the King Power, and is considered the ideal candidate to take over after Brendan Rodgers was asked to step down from his position. Leicester City are currently battling relegation, with just seven wins in the English top flight this season. Moreover, the Leicester City squad is not at its best following the departures of veteran goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to Ligue 1 side Nice, while Wesley Fofana left in the summer to join Potter’s former team. Meanwhile, the Foxes attack is not able to compensate for the brilliant Jamie Vardy, who is on the wane after what has been a spectacular career.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka have a combined seven goals between them this season, while England star James Maddison has been forced to do most of the heavy lifting for the former Premier League champions.

Potter will have massive shoes to fill after Brendan Rodgers parted ways with Leicester. The former Watford and Liverpool manager was extremely successful at Leicester, managing two successive fifth-place finishes in the Premier League, in addition to a commendable Europa League campaign last season, where they reached the semifinals.

On the other hand, Potter, if he arrives, has been bogged down in recent times by a lackluster Chelsea side, despite splurging unimaginable amounts of money on the side. Leicester will be a contrasting project for him, and a tough one at that, considering that he will be tasked with keeping them in the top flight.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have made contact with former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, with the German set to take over at Stamford Bridge, if all goes well. Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has corroborated the contact between the two parties. Get more such updates on football only on Empire777 Sports.

“Julian Nagelsmann is the favourite candidate to replace Graham Potter as new Chelsea head coach, as reported yesterday. Nagelsmann was mentioned yesterday during internal discussions — Julian is considered a talented coach. Talks are ongoing to make the best decision.” Romano said.
