Manchester United order scouting report on Brighton superstar Kaoru Mitoma

Record Premier League champions Manchester United have identified Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma as a potential summer transfer target, as per multiple reports.

The English giants are believed to be serious in their pursuit, after it was revealed that a group of scouts associated with the Red Devils will be attending a number of Brighton and Hove Albion’s matches going forward to prepare their assessment of the player, following which the management will take a call on whether to put in a bid for the recent sensation.

Manchester United are in the middle of a club sale, after their long-time American owners, the Glazer family, decided to entertain bids for a partial or complete takeover of the storied club. Two prominent parties have emerged as frontrunners in the race to secure the reigns of Manchester United, including Qatari sheikh Jassim Al-Thani, as well as a consortium of investors led by Jim Ratcliffe. Although there is not much information surrounding the takeover, Al-Thani is currently leading the race, if reports are to be believed.

However, the sale of the club has not halted United’s summer transfer plans, as they aim to continue the excellent progress under Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag, who marshalled the Red Devils to a first trophy in five years, following their Carabao Cup triumph. United are also very much in the race for the FA Cup and the Europa League, in addition to sitting firmly in third place in the Premier League. Mitoma joined the Seagulls from their sister club Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium for £2.5 million, and has been mighty impressive in his 13 Premier League starts. Mitoma became a starter after the departure of Leandro Trossard, and has risen to widespread acclaim in a matter of months.

The 25-year old is outstanding with the ball at his feet, and has an uncanny ability to shoot with perfection. He is a huge part of Roberto de Zerbi’s project, and it will be unlikely that the club will let go of such a supreme talent just months after bringing him to the club. Nevertheless, should the club consider a sale, Mitoma will not come cheap, as evidenced by Brighton’s valuation of the likes of Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo.
