Olivier Giroud urges Christian Pulisic to join AC Milan

Former Chelsea striker and current AC Milan player Olivier Giroud has urged his former teammate, Christian Pulisic, to join him at AC Milan this summer. Giroud, who spent three-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, scoring 39 goals in 119 appearances, believes that Pulisic could be a valuable addition to the Milan team.

Pulisic, who has largely underperformed during his four-year spell at Chelsea, only starting eight league games this season, could be sold this summer as part of the clear-out in west London. Napoli and Juventus are among the clubs interested in signing the USA international winger. Follow your favourite Serie A team with attractive betting odds from Gclub.

Giroud, who has scored 27 goals across the last two seasons at AC Milan, has stated that he would welcome the chance to play with Pulisic again. “I think everyone would like it,” he said. “He’s a big name in Europe, so that would help us. He is that kind of player with great skills, with great talent.”

Giroud also reminisced about his time playing alongside Pulisic, saying “He is a cheerful boy, always smiling and we laughed a lot together. Our understanding on the pitch was also excellent, a bit like with Eden Hazard, even though I played less with Christian. We knew how to find each other.”

Chelsea’s Todd Boehly has spent a staggering £600m over the past 12 months, and it is expected that several Chelsea players will be sold this summer. Giroud hopes that AC Milan will take advantage of this clear-out by signing Pulisic, who is still highly rated across Europe despite his struggles at Chelsea.
