Manchester United not interested in long-drawn negotiations for Kane; to walk away if Levy becomes a stumbling block

English footballing giants Manchester United will reportedly pursue a deal to bring superstar striker Harry Kane to the club over the summer transfer window, but will walk away from the deal, should Tottenham Hotspur owner Daniel Levy make ‘unreasonable’ demands during the transfer negotiations.

Levy, who is known throughout footballing circles for being a tough nut to crack in terms of completing transfer deals, has caused many a deal to fall through after refusing to budge on his ask. Such being the case, the Red Devils are expected not to hold long-drawn conversations with the Londoners, as they would much rather prefer a quick negotiation, allowing them to focus on other areas of their squad. United are currently doing well under Dutch boss Erik Ten Hag, who has brought in significant change at the club, while also taking the Red Devils to a first trophy in five years with their triumphant Carabao Cup campaign. United are also alive in all their other three competitions, including the FA Cup and the Europa League. Ten Hag’s side also view themselves as having an outside chance of finishing in second place in the league, a huge achievement considering the start they had to their season.

However, Ten Hag is reportedly keen on filling a few more positions in the squad with players that align more closely with his coaching philosophy, with a centre-forward, a box-to-box midfielder, and a defender being the positions of priority. Among these, Ten Hag is believed to be adamant on securing the centre-forward first, for which he has identified Kane among his first choices.

They will be eager to complete the transfer well before the start of the season, allowing the player to arrive at the Theatre of Dreams ahead of the pre-season. Nevertheless, United are aware of Levy’s reputation, and will reportedly stop their pursuit if the owner becomes too much of an obstacle. United are also linked with Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who could make the move to England after a scintillating season with the Italians thus far.
